This is a portal that allows people to create a Blog, participate in Forums, author web pages, even to write or help write a book. I will be adding a calendar function that will allow us to easily see when planned events are to take place in the near future. Please get with Chessy in-game to set up a username and a password. I will also need an email address to send to confirmation to; but this is not shared and the address will go no-where else.

You could also email chessy@olympicsoftworks.org with: Your guild toon's name and what you want for username and password. Remember, the name you use as a username is what people will see as the name that made the post.

 NEW October 1
To help out those Level 80 people who are choosing to stay in ALK but definitely want to advance in doing Heroics and eventually Raid content, we have added the Silver Griffin Raid Room to the menus on the left of this site. Under it you will find information on Attack Rotations, Spec builds, Gear, etc. Check it out and please shoot me an email with your spec, and/or the attack rotation/preferences you use...or where you got the one you are using from.

The reason this is being built is so that people can use this information to see where to hunt for the gear they will need, and learn to use better attack rotations to maximise their DPS. For Heroic content, DPS should be a solid 1200 or more. Of course it can be done with less, but it becomes more difficult on the healer and tank because the boss fights go on for a much longer period of time.

Even if you don't want to really put a lot of effort into getting ready for Heroics and Raids, this can still be a good resource for you when you are thinking of upgrades for your gear.

Since no one came up with another name, I dub those of us that are moving into Progression Content and choosing to stay in About Last Knight: Silver Griffins!

I need to admit that this name is taken from a song by Mercedes Lacky. Some of the lyrics are below, and you can listen to/download the song from  [www.gryphonpages.com/research/today] -link.

His is a fairly modest little website, but the author has a couple songs from Mercedes Lackey there including "The Silver Griffins" along with the lyrics. The genre of this song is called FILK. Basically a kind of folks music with a sci-fi or fantasy theme.

This guild has a voice chat server. Due to the fact that many of our members use GNU/Linux as their operating system instead of Windows, we use Team Speak. The software is well written and has a lighter footprint and bandwidth requirements than Ventrillo, and has native clients for all 3 major operating systems. We recommended that you install Team Speak for doing instances, especially Heroics and Raids. For some raids, you may be asked to install Ventrillo as well. Teamspeak and Ventrillo can be run at the same time if you want, and will not interfere with each other. Simply set different buttons to key-up so you can talk into either on.

We have many people now at level 80, and ever more people closing in on it. While we are a leveling guild; meaning we don't push people to level-up. This is a game and we encourage playing the game to have fun.

Some people enjoy playing lower-level characters, doing quests and playing alts to see the game from different angles. While for some people it's a race to level 80 to get into instances and raids. Both are great ways to play.

In order to help those who are trying to get into instance groups pre-80, and then into Heroics and Raids post-80, we are working on ways to set some structure so players know that during certain times each evening, groups are a focus for those that want to grow and get into content progression. This also helps the guild as a whole as well by assuring that we have higher level players who are well equipped; players that are able to help other guild members as they level up.

If you want to be included in progressive instances and work up towards raid content, please respond in the Forums under the thread  [RAIDERS] -link.
